Conceptually ‘River Systems’ include rivers and the springs, streams, aquifers, and the watersheds that feed them, as well as the lakes, bays, and estuaries into which they flow.  

The main focus of the Institute is to promote a holistic approach to the management of river systems where key principles of sustainability and equitable use guide sound water policy.
