To recognize current research on climate change impacts on Texas water resources, the conference will feature a poster session.  The poster session will be divided into two categories:  1) professional posters and 2) student posters.

Professional Posters
The professional poster session provides an opportunity to showcase recent or current research in the field of climate change by academic research institutions, private consulting firms, governmental agencies, and non-profit organizations.

Student Posters
Students currently enrolled in degree programs related to conference topics (ie. meteorology, aquatic/terrestrial biology, water resources, geography, agriculture) are invited to submit an abstract on research conducted over the past two years.  The poster should address at least one of the following topics:

  • Climate change impacts on natural systems or human environments
  • Tools and technology for detecting or predicting climate change
  • Water resource policy and management
  • Water resource science

A limited number of posters will be selected from the submitted abstracts to be displayed during the conference.  Conference registration will be waived for the students presenting the selected posters.

Conference Registration and Poster Abstract Submission
Poster authors should submit the following forms by the March 15, 2008 deadline:

Poster abstracts will be reviewed by the conference steering committee.  Authors will be notified by March 25, 2008 of the status of their poster.

Poster Format Guidelines

Posters should be no larger than 3’ X 4’.  Supplemental materials pertaining directly to the research displayed may be distributed.  Advertisements are not permitted due to Capitol building guidelines; private firms should be sure their posters provide research information pertinent to the conference topics.
